Group 2: Control-Problem Orientation February 22nd, 2021.

I was part of group two in which we as a team had to give an example of the defensive frame which was control and then one of the supportive frame which was problem orientation. Some examples that we shared as a group had to do with the fact that the way we create solutions in any environment it impacts the climate of that place. Most of us drew on examples from our workplace experiences.

We discussed on how supportive environments for example in the workplace can create a more positive environment to work in and generally the work flow is also better. This because everyone feels engaged and by giving their inputs they feel some sort of empowerment. That makes the employees feel more accepted and also needed in that company.

When solutions are made by superiors without asking the ideas/opinion of the employees sometimes that does not create a great environment in the workplace and as a result defensiveness comes into play.
